St. Barnabas Church | Anglican ~ Episcopal

story.

…Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works
and give glory to your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:16

What will be the story of your life? The story of St. Barnabas Church is a jagged journey of many beautiful, flawed, and courageous people. Our story as a congregation dates back to the early 1920’s when a small group of African-American women began to gather for worship on Del Mar Street in Pasadena, CA. In 1932, the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles recognized St. Barnabas as a mission congregation.

Our story continues today through the lives and labors of those who seek to listen to and live the teachings of Jesus. We desire to be light in the midst of darkness. We seek to offer hope in the midst of despair. We work to honor each life as a unique expression of God. We invite you to be a part of our story.
